New State Road Law Aims For Practical Reform
Beaverhead county officials return from Helena where a road law was drafted after eight days of discussion. The bill consolidates prior laws into a 95 page measure, gives commissioners power to appoint road supervisors and create districts, repeals the 1895 and Geiger laws, and includes road viewers at three dollars a day. It also incorporates a Missouri provision requiring drivers of power vehicles to stop near horses and mandates planks on bridges for heavy vehicles.
