Tony Lese a young Italian section laborer was arrested last Friday on a charge of assault in the first degree. He is accused of cutting Joe Varucci a fellow worker and countryman in the back with a knife. The trouble stemmed from a quarrel among Italian section men at their section house Thursday night. Varucci was not seriously injured.

Barch Hat Shop Opens In Andrus Hotel Readied Milinery Store
Mrs. Jessie Barch moved her millinery shop into the Andrus hotel on Glendale street opposite the Telephone block. The 25 by 75 foot space features mauve and old gold decor, deluxe fixtures, beveled mirrors, and two large display windows. The shop cost $5,000 to fit up and will showcase seasonal hats while Mrs. Barck visits the eastern market for new stock.

Coroner Plimpton received notice of the death of H. F. Boyer of Pinto in a coal mine cave-in near Miles City. Officials say the death was accidental as a bank collapsed while he was likely removing coal for personal use. Disposition of the body was directed by wire.

The final report shows $3,201.65 paid to the general treasurer and $14 pledged unpaid. Sixty-nine high school pupils joined the prisoners fund at $1 a month for ten months, with some already paid. Assembly and Miss Norris room pupils give six months monthly, December total $31. Normal college and faculty contribute $3.50 through the College Friendship Fund.
