Northern Pacific linked Montana to nations east and west
The Northern Pacific railway, called the first northern trans continental, opened Montana to year round transport and ocean access via Pacific ports. Initiated from Stevens expedition under Gov Isaac Stevens and funded by Jay Cooke, the line faced Civil War era support, a 1873 crash, and wife rebuilt in 1878. Construction reached Montana by 1882 with divisions across Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain, and Clark's Fork, overseen by Gen Adnan Anderson and Frederick Billings.

Preference Ratings For Farm Machinery Buying Not Required
Retail buyers of farm machinery and repair parts do not need preference rating certificates. The priorities division of the office of production management clarifies the rating applies only to manufacturers, not to the retail consumer.
