Zone Cage Meet to Be Held at Beaverhead High
Beaverhead county high school will host eight Class B teams for the Zone Cage Meet in Beaverton Feb 21 to 23, marking the first district tournament since 1928. Eight teams advance from 16 based on regular season games, with the winner advancing to the state Class B tournament likely at Normal college gym. The Beaverheads open the event with a Feb 21 session after a 22 to 18 victory over Gallatin at Bozeman.

Beaverhead Post Honors Edwin O Nelson with Purple Heart
The Beaverhead post of the American Legion conferred the Purple Heart on World War II veteran Edwin O. Nelson at a Thursday meeting near Dillon. Nelson, wounded during the Meuse Argonne offensive on September 30, 1918, becomes the first Beaverhead veteran to receive the award. The gathering also closed the post membership drive with two teams exceeding their 1935 quota and about 40 veterans attending a Dutch lunch.

Taylor allegedly abandoned the stolen machine at Kemmerer Wyo. Probation Officer Harrison of Vancouver took charge Monday returning him to that city to face charges. Centennial Woman Dies at Her Dillon Home
Mrs. Martha Jones an 89 year old longtime Centennial valley resident died at her Dillon residence Tuesday morning after a long illness. She lived on a Centennial ranch near Monide for years and moved to Dillon recently. Surviving are two sons Frank and Charles Jones and a daughter Mrs. L G Sperry all of Monida.

Rancher seriously wounded in accidental Sunday shooting
Blanche Stanfield, a prominent Birch Creek rancher, was treated at Barrett hospital for a bullet in the right foot from a rifle accidentally discharged by Henry J. Rodgers. An operation removed the bullet. Stanfield left the hospital Monday and is not expected to have lasting disability.

Dillon Man Named Head of Shrines in Bagdad Temple
Louie K. Adams of Dillon was elected potentate of Bagdad temple at a Butte meeting. Ki Kenyon of Bozeman received a past potentate's ring. A large audience enjoyed the musical comedy Tune In at the high school gymnasium Saturday night directed by Mildred A. Buckneberg. A matinee also drew a crowd as the show portrayed the trials of a radio station owner manager and artists with a well presented plot and catchy tunes.
