Death of George Gleed a prominent stockman in Lima
George Gleed a leading Lima cattleman and rancher died in Murray's hospital after an appendicitis operation led to blood poisoning. The Welsh born Idaho resident, about 58, left five children and two large ranches. Funeral held in Lima with I O O F and Latter Day Saint rites. J Duff McCandy the Portland sheep buyer arrived in Dillon this week with 1600 ewes and wethers to be shipped to Portland tomorrow. The consignment is part of a 65000 recently purchased from John Lovell. The rest, mixed two and three year olds, are grain and hay fed for shipment within a month. Portland remains a popular market as McCandy has acquired 14500 sheep in the region, with 8000 purchased from Lovell.

New Year's Fire Damage at Olmsted-Stevenson Store
A basement flue fire at the Olmsted-Stevenson company store caused about 3000 dollars in grocery damage last Thursday afternoon.
