Beaverhead stockman R. Selway dies after brief illness

Beav erhead county pioneer and stockman Rnest O Selway dies at St James hospital Butte after a short illness. Born February 14 1870 near Dillon he helped found the Selway Sheep Co with J E Morse and later ran it alone. News of his death shocks Montana as tributes pour in from across the state. Dillon Elks Attend Butte Anniversary Meet

Avice. 76 Dillon Elks and many of their wives attended an anniversary celebration staged by the Butte Elks lodge last Saturday night. They toured the Fox theatre and enjoyed the Butte city’s hospitality, with the drum and bugle corps parading and broadcasts on Station KGIR.

Four Churches Report Strong Month Of Attendance Growth

The four congregations end a successful church month with a 609 rise in morning attendance over February 1930 and a total morning attendance of 1517 for the month. The largest single Sunday drew 112 worshippers, while 263 attended the Baptist auditorium event.

Beaverettes Capture State Girls Basketball Title

Baverhead county high school's Beaverettes defeated Cardwell 32 to 25 to claim the state girls basketball championship. Dillon led 18 to 19 at halftime, then pulled away in the third quarter to secure a second undefeated season. H and Bayers and E Ander starred for Dillon while R Crame led Cardwell. A large crowd witnessed the title clash.
