Aitken fouled out early and Wyman Dupuis injured his ankle in the second half, but the Bulldogs led 22-11 at halftime and controlled the pace. Twenty two members attended the biennial election of officers by the Sons and Daughters of Montana Pioneers and chose Mrs Francis Tonrey as head for the next two years. A total of 1,285 Montana men aged 21 to 35 are slated for induction under the selective service program by March 1. Beav erhead County will entrain 26 men for Missoula on Feb 27 for induction, with draft numbers and addresses listed. Word reached that Ed Dumke father of Irwin Dumke and Mrs. J H Keenan of Dillon died in Oshkosh Wisconsin after a prolonged illness. Mrs Keenan had traveled to Oshkosh three weeks prior as his condition grew critical.

The Beaverhead county board held an extra session on February 17 1941 at 2:00 pm with all members present. They awarded the tandem drive diesel patrol contract to Westmont Tractor and Equipment Co Missoula for 6646 dollars and arranged payment terms. A shed on the Fred Rabichaw place was released from county claims after a 10 dollar payment. Tentative talks discussed tuition damages by Wallace Henry Kiner’s theft of tires and accessories from county equipment in 1938.

Former Resident Dies in California
Max Lauterbach age 81, longtime Dillon area resident and retired rancher, died Sunday in Santa Ana California. He belonged to Dillon Elks lodge No 1554 and was known among Beaverhead county friends. Born May 16 1859 in Degendorf Bavaria he immigrated to the United States and later ran sheep near Twin Bridges before retiring to California with his wife.
