Resignation of St James Rector H N Tragitt Jr
The Rev H N Tragitt Jr rector of St James Episcopal church submitted his resignation to the vestry effective early next month. He will take a post at a Burbank California Episcopal church in the Los Angeles diocese. The vestry accepted with regret and the board will meet Mondays to discuss church matters and a successor. Tragitt has led St James since 1928 and is a Columbia and University of the South graduate. He came from Detroit Lakes Minnesota and serves on the general convention commission.

Montana Legislature OKs 30 Day Divorce Bill
The senate advanced the 30 day divorce measure 35 to 19 and sent it to Governor Ayers for approval. If signed, Montana would allow divorce proceedings after 30 days of residency, not changing grounds but accelerating start. Supporter Rep. Sherman Smith noted past close votes. Nevada currently requires six weeks. The bill could boost Montana’s income similarly to Nevada’s $23 million annual take.

Fish fingerlings sought by Beaverhead Sportsmen
Beaverhead Sportsmen's Association requested nearly 1.5 million fish fingerlings from the federal hatchery for planting in local streams in 1939. Targets include 200 000 rainbow and 200 000 lochleven for Beaverhead river Blacktail creek 100 000 natives and 100 000 rainbow for Big Sheep creek and Birch creek 200 000 black bass for Poin Dexter slough and lakes.

Pirates of Penzance to be staged at Normal College auditorium
Under Arnold Clair direction the operetta Pirates of Penzance will be performed Friday at 8 15 p m in the Normal College auditorium. The production features the men and women glee clubs and a special orchestra from the Little Symphony. Cast includes Kenneth Barry Dillon Nadine Kuss Butte Margaret McLeod Butte Jess Whitney Whitefish and others. The Pirates and timid heroines are joined by a list of Dillon Butte Manhattan and other hometowns with police officers in bobbie dress among the ensemble. Dillon Chamber of Commerce seeks local business and professional help to raise 25 000 for a complete Daly Spur dam site survey in Ryan canyon.
