Bills ranged from school transportation and teachers credentials to city police salaries and university reporting duties. A separate February 18 session saw a tense clash over house rules led by Colonel Nolan with debates over third readings and suspension provisions.

Fatal Train Accident Near Coal Chutes
A man identified as J W Clark, 28, was killed when struck by a passenger train near the Dillon yards after attempting to ride the train. Coroner's inquest returned accidental death. Clark, formerly of Winnipeg, Canada, was found near the stockyards with minimal identifying items. The incident occurred after he left Lima where he had been jailed for vagrancy.

Boys Scouts Plan City Clubroom In Dillon
At a Guild Hall meeting last Saturday the Dillon group organized a Boys Scouts clubroom in the Selway building opposite Anderson’s livery. It will be open to all city boys, with a play room and reading room, no dues, and first enrollment examinations for tender feet.

Opium Den Raid Leads to Lum Lock Fine
Undersheriff Erwin raided Lum Locks known as a pioneer Chinaman in China town. Lum admitted operating an opium joint and paid a $250 fine after being found with opium valued at about $80 and related smoking accessories. He was arrested early morning and jailed before court.

J M Moore moved twenty five head of horses to Dillon sold by the lot to George Ditty at a single price. Nichols and Barr plan a first class alley in their new building and locals discuss forming a bowling club to challenge Salmon and Dillon. J N McLeod a 65 year old miner at Copper Queen mine died of pneumonia. He was a Mason and a Scotch Canadian who came from Bannack Montana years ago. He was buried in the cemetery southeast of the city and his heirs may cover burial costs.
