Stock Show in Montana Promises Huge Event

Senator B C Belway urged stockmen to fund a major stock show in April at Wise River Montana. He said two cents per head for cattle and one cent per head for sheep would cover costs and that the drive had strong support with no refusals. Dozens reserved space and top brokers breeders and buyers nationwide will attend.

Beav erhead High Hoopsters Suffer Week Defeats

The Beaverhead high quintet lost to Sheridan 20 16 in Sheridan on Friday night and fell 17 4 to Sheridan the following evening with poor shooting. Intermountain Union of Helena beat State Normal 31 12 at the local gym sat. Bob Barrett, former Dillon star, coaches the Demolay squad this week.

Boy Scouts Show To Benefit Building Fund

Troop 1 of the Dillon Boy Scouts will present an entertainment titled The Hero of the Boy Scouts at the public school auditorium. About twenty boys are trained by Mrs. Pearl S. Smith and proceeds support the Boy Scout building fund.

George Woodworth Seriously Ill in California

Senator Frank Hazelbaker received a telegram from Los Angeles reporting the serious illness of George Woodworth, a prominent old-timer in the county. Woodworth is ill with pneumonia at his Long Beach home. Mrs. W. G. Montgomery and her husband visited yesterday from Wisdom to attend the funeral of James Lennox, Montgomery's grandfather.

Memorial Services Held by Rotary in Dillon

Memorial services for the late Mr. Woodrow Wilson were held at the Rotary club luncheon. Dr. B. Davis of the Normal College gave the address and Rev. T. W. Bennett offered prayer. J. T. Leimert spoke on Beaverhead Milling company products and distribution. A county dinner featured dishes made from local products including corn beef and cabbage and whole wheat bread from Beaverhead Milling.

Legal Holidays to be Ob served During Coming Year

A Dillon Rotary Club study gathers business opinions on holiday closings. It recommends full closing days for New Year s Day Washington s Birthday Decoration Day Independence Day Labor Day Armistice Day Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day with Sunday observances moved to Monday. It also urges advance notice and defers other closings to the permanent committee led by J H Gilbert J E Monroe and Frank Eliel.

Woodrow Wilson dies after eight years as US president

The 28th U S president Woodrow Wilson dies after leading the nation through World War I and shaping postwar peace. Born in Staunton Virginia in 1856 he rose from Princeton professor to governor of New Jersey and then to the White House. He faced intense praise and sharp criticism and his death ends a central era in American and world affairs.

James Lennox Dies After Illness at Home

James Lennox pioneer resident dies after long illness at his home west of town. Born December 28, 1840, he lived in the city about 35 years and is survived by his wife and seven children. Funeral held Tuesday from St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Father Leschner officiating. interment at Mountain View Cemetery.

Binney Defends Vigilante Picture Promotion in Jail

Harold J. Binney, in the Butte county jail after arriving from Santa Rosa, denies irregularities in promoting the Vigilante Motion Picture Corp and any misstatement to stock buyers. He says he sold $17,000 of stock over a year and a half, reinvested funds, and was owed $2,325 for services. He plans to discuss details with his lawyer before commenting further.
