Orchards Saved by the Lady Bug
An account of a California scale outbreak in which cottony cushion scale devastated orchards. Tests Prove Value of Sudan Grass Pasturing
Six grade Holstein cows grazed four acres of Sudan grass from July 1 to October 10. They started on a silage grain and alfalfa hay diet and then shifted to a grain ration while on pasture. Milk production remained strong, showing Sudan grass provides summer pasture and matches the output of a standard silage grain and alfalfa hay diet.
