Montana Supreme Court rules amended primary act not emergency
The Montana Supreme Court declares the amended primary act is not an emergency measure and can be halted by referendum petitions. Elections proceed under the old law, April 23, with delegates named to national conventions and presidential preference expressed though not binding. The case stems from Goodman of Helena vs Stewart over referendum filing rights.
