Sheep Industry Shifts Highlight Montana Talk

Mr Hagenbarth cites peak Montana sheep numbers of 6.2 million, now just over 2 million, with 10 percent surviving as returns. He notes Britain and Scotland have more sheep than the U.S., urges expansion, discusses tariffs, banking limits, and three year credits aiding stockmasters and the wool exchange. He recalls 1892 to 1922 market shifts toward lambs and the rising cost of herder wages and grazing.
