Oscar Findling Rites Held in Dillon After Sudden Illness
Oscar Charles Findling died unexpectedly from a brain hemorrhage after a brief illness. Born May 20 1862 in Sacramento he lived in Colorado before moving to Dillon seven years ago to run a restaurant with his wife and daughter in residence. Private services were held at home and later at the Odd Fellows hall with entombment at Mountain View cemetery. The community expresses deep sympathy for his wife and daughter.

Attempted Jail Delivery by Inmate Conlan
An attempted jail escape by John Conlan, inmate at the county jail, nearly succeeded last Monday evening. He pulled a steel bar from a sink, dug through an eighteen inch wall, and daylight appeared before being spotted. The escape occurred between 7 and 8 pm during outside time. Sheriff Gosman found the hole later, pasted over with paper. Conlan was sentenced Monday morning by Judge Callaway to one year in the penitentiary for burglarizing a section house at Lima.
