Beaverhead county begins a new talc operation with Tri State Minerals at Barretts Station south of Dillon. The plant will reach 150 tons daily once full capacity is achieved, supplying the Ogden mill and employing about 20 now with plans to grow when Stone Creek mine resumes in spring.

Marker Planned for Dillon WWI Veteran Ridings Grave
James McCashin, Dillon district Veterans Welfare officer, reports the government will place a grave marker for Harry S. Ridings, a Dillon World War I veteran who died May 9. A Texas death under the same name and serial number caused a identity mystery among government agencies until records confirmed the Dillon man as the true Ridings. Prohosky Reviews Prairie Route Expansion Plans
County Commissioner John Prohosky joined State Highway Engineer Lou Chittam and district supervisor C. L. Fitzsimmons to inspect a nine mile extension on the Armstead to Salmon route. The project would connect from the Idaho line through existing segments to near Grant and Skelton or Metlen ranch, skirting Clarke's Canyon Dam reservoir and potentially linking with U S Highway 91 or Armstead if the reservoir plan proceeds. Chittam plans immediate surveying and staking of the extension.

George Schotte urged support for Butte Copper Sox new Pioneer League ballpark and Bob O Regan noted the lighting plant arrival and projected 200000 price.
