Fort Benton resident Neal Archer’s life story was inserted into the U.S. Congressional Record on June 23 1952 by Rep Mike Mansfield as an example of Americanism The 61 year old polio survivor who became a rural mail carrier designed his own car hand controls and a four wheel drive surplus vehicle to cope with hardship.
