Montana Plans 1943 Auto License Cover Plates
Montana officials decided to issue 1943 license plates as 24 inch red strips to cover the 1942 plates to conserve steel. Motorists will be asked to turn in 1941 plates, with some old plates used for scrap or for 1944 cover plates as long as the emergency lasts.
