Inmate Jose Tobares Dies at County Farm on Thanksgiving
Funeral services for Jose Tobares, a county farm inmate, were held Friday at Brundage funeral home with burial in Mountain View cemetery. Tobares died Thanksgiving morning during breakfast at the farm. A former railroad employee, he had lived in the county about 30 years and was born in Mexico in 1867 with no known relatives.

Montana's 1943 Food for Freedom targets outlined by R. J. Mc Kenna chair of the State USDA War Board call for higher nationwide milk meat eggs and feed grains with beef pork lamb and mutton goals set at 25.3 billion pounds a 14 percent rise from 1942. Rites Held for Pioneer in Butte
Final tribute was paid to Frank Chinn pioneer stage coach driver of Montana at funeral services in Butte. Interment was made in Mount Moriah cemetery. He died in a Butte hospital and was 64. He was born in Glendale and worked as rancher cowpuncher stage driver and later watchman for Anaconda Copper. Survivors include his widow four daughters two sisters a brother and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Frank Hazelbaker Mrs. George Gosman and Mrs. S E Davis were named to the WAAC procurement board in Dillon by Lt Col Irwin Clawson district recruiting officer of Butte. Rationing Begins as Gas and Coffee Rules Take Effect
With the start of gas rationing, Americans lose free access to coffee and fuel at will. Cars were scarce on Dillon streets as people rushed to stations for last fills before limits. Mrs Gilston, Lima pioneer, dies at 75
Mrs Barbara Gilston 75 longtime Lima resident and Butte pioneer died last Friday in Lima. Funeral services were held Monday at Lima Methodist Church with Rev Calvin J Logan officiating. Burial followed in Lima Cemetery. She came from Guelph Canada and married in Butte 53 years ago. Survivors include daughter Mrs Thomas Cantrell of Lima three grandchildren and three siblings in Canada.

Funeral services were held at Richards funeral home in Butte for Leona B Brundage widow of Owen W Brundage who died after a brief illness.
