Farmers on the east bench expect 20 to 36 bushels per acre from numerous dry land farms as rainfall and grasshoppers caused some damage but overall crop prospects remain favorable. Threshing crews prepare for the season while ranchers note exceptional hay quality and a large harvest despite wet weather.
Legionnaires and Dillon businessmen rush to ready the fairgrounds for the annual pow wow and race meet slated September 8 to 10. A free barbecue will feed thousands after the morning game, with parking planned north of the grandstand and a Ford-only car contest highlighted.

Ballots also reveal leaders for clerk of the supreme court, district judge, railroad commissioner, sheriff, and county offices including school superintendent and county attorney through write-ins.
Dr R R Rathbone and Perry Bowers visited Butte to arrange a Beaverhead county shriners gathering on Saturday September 30 in Dillon. The plan includes a special train from Butte a street parade a banquet at the Masonic temple and a grand dance at Dillmont park with over a hundred shriners and their ladies and the Bagdad patrol band and clowns sought from San Francisco.
