Sheridan Horse Sale Proves A Big Success
The Sheridan horse sale drew about 280 horses sold with average prices around 55 dollars per head for yearlings. Buyers included John Rich of Salt Lake City who bought two cars and Mr Stock Rider of Oklahoma who purchased one car, along with Mr Hart of Dakota and many local buyers. The sale attracted participants from across the western region.

Mr G S Roddy manager of Norris and Rowe circus arrived with twenty eight posters lithographs banners and programers and announced the August 24 show the only big circus in the region this year. Roddy spoke of rapid growth and added that acquisitions in San Francisco and New York boosted this season with internationally renowned performers and a prior record of 279873 paid admissions in thirty days in the west.

Mysterious disappearance of Dillon woman Mrs Call
Mrs W A Call, a well known Dillon resident, vanished after July 19 with no trace. She had been in Bozeman for medical reasons and quarantine for smallpox, last heard July 13, planned to travel to Dillon, but no ticket records or sighting exist. Her husband appeals for any information from travelers on the coast.

A D Young Party Traces Old Mullan Road To Helena
A D Young and party returned from an auto trip covering Butte Anaconda Deer Lodge and Helena. They rode the old Mullan stage road from Deer Lodge to Helena encountering a minor accident stuck in the Little Blackfoot river but were pulled out by a four horse team.

Butte reports the death of H L Frank a longtime prominent figure in politics and business. Born July 5 1852 in Gallipolis Ohio he moved to Butte in 1878 and rose to mayor of Butte serving two terms. He also helped shape Montana politics through the constitutional convention and state legislatures.
