Burglars Hit Bedrock Store Again In Bold Heist

Hon Emerson Hill’s Bedrock general store suffered a costly break in on a weekend night. Three safe explosions failed to fully open the vault while about 75 dollars in cash a 30 dollar gold nugget and a pearl handled revolver were taken. Night operator CL Craycroft alerted authorities. a posse pursued leads but no suspects yet. reward offered.

Lima Defeats Farlin In Close Lima Nine Thriller

Special Correspondence to The Examiner Lima Montana Aug 15 Lima beat Farlin in a tight baseball game after a late rally. Farlin led early with three runs in the first four frames while Lima came back with multiple hits including McLeod and Bryson outsized by a decisive late inning burst. Final score showed Lima overcoming a two run edge to win by three as Bryson and Fro ling sparked the dramatic ninth inning rally.

Methodists Meet in Dil Lon for Annual Montana Conference

About eighty ministers and lay delegates arrived in Dilllon to attend the Montana annual conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Opening services featured Epworth League remarks by Rev E M Randall and a choir under Prof Luce. Bishop David H Moore presided at the morning session with officers named and reports highlighting district work.

District Court Adjourns Heavy November Term

The district court adjourned the August term With Judge Call away noting routine business and an unusually heavy November term. Trials were scheduled for numerous cases including Joseph Wal et al, Thos Flynn, John Morgan, L J Price, and many more with both bench and jury settings listed. Contempt findings against Louis Grim and Thomas Flynn accompanied by fines and a 60 day stay of execution for Flynn. Decrees granted in Robbins case, guardianship appointed, and various demurrers and amendments scheduled through November 27.

Street Fair Promises All Attractions in Dillon Next Week

Dillon readies for a Banner Street Fair under Volunteer Firemen auspices from Aug 21 to 26. Great Monarch Shows headline free and ten paid acts including Marvelous Melville and The Baroum Bailey, with Mephisto and Jno Mangies performing daily. Proceeds aid the Firemen’s treasury as Dillon invites all to join in pageant and merriment.

Beaverhead County Levies Set in 1905 Tax Roll

Beaverhead County Montana boards set the annual levies August 14 1905 appointing delegates to the Irrigation and Commercial Congresses and listing rates for general and special school district taxes. County polls tax set at 2.00 per man ages 21 to 60 with various funds receiving mill increases.

Pioneer James Bateman Dies in Glendale

James Clay Bateman 60 a Glendale resident and lifelong northern Montana figure died of heart failure at his home. He helped develop the region after arriving in 1866 before working as a stage driver and later ranching. Survived by wife and three children Elmer George Pfaff and a Minnesota born father remains. Funeral held at Melrose with many from Glendale and surrounding areas attending.
