Visitors Day at Normal College Domestic Science

Friday was visitors day for the Domestic Science Department at the Normal College. Classes ran from nine to twelve, with students taking turns at fire building oven control and cleanup under Miss McDowell. The focus was on nutritious, economical cooking with soft doughs and quick recipes, including jellies preserves and freshly baked cakes.

Porter Lero Parker Held on Grand Larceny Charge

Leroy Parker a Lovell's barber shop porter is jailed awaiting a preliminary hearing on grand larceny accusations. Police found a valuable opal and diamond stick pin believed stolen from Josh Wikidal of Dillon Steam Laundry after Wikidal reported it missing. The pin was recovered under a carpet corner in Parker's room. Parker denies the claim.

Williamson Car Accident At Hill Near Cornell Ranch

Last Wednesday night a Williamson family car overturned at the foot of the hill north of town. Mrs Williamson, driving at high speed to gain a start up the hill, lost control. Mrs Martin sustained a wrist fracture while Mr and Mrs Williamson, and Miss Elfreda Williamson, escaped with scratches and bruises.

The Dillon ball team lost two close games to Butte Independents 9 to 6 and 2 to 1 in a week. Richards pitched well for Dillon in the league game but Butte plated runs on errors and wild throws. Joe Jolling’s three-base line drive highlighted Dillon’s ninth-inning spark, while Hartman and Welty paced hits in a tight two game set. next Monday's rematch looms with county fair week possibilities.
