Police Commission Set Up at City Council Meeting
Dillon's city council led by Mayor Phillip J. Lovell adopted the Metropolitan Police Force ordinance and appointed a three member police commission. J. C. Dam Planned on Big Hole River Near Glen Is
A diversion dam about seven miles from Glen would store water on the Big Hole River for reclamation and irrigation under a Bureau of Reclamation plan approved by Montana Water Conservation Board. The plan also includes a parallel dam about one to ten miles below Twin Bridges to divert water from the Jefferson into the Milligan reservoir via a 58 mile canal.

Cattle Buyers Active as Top Prices Reported in Beaverhead County
Activity in the steer market drew buyers to Grasshopper valley Horse Prairie and Wise River with about 2000 steers contracted for fall delivery from local ranches by Floyd Skelton and Guy Gray. Some steers will head to eastern feeders while others go to western buyers. Harrison and Sons contracted steers to Johnson of California, a long time purchaser from Beaverhead County. Harrison and Sons also sold two carloads of cows to Floyd Skelton. The week saw cool to hot weather with frequent thunder storms and light rainfall, haying disrupted in many areas.
