Fire narrowly averted in Dillon from yard waste blaze
A chimney spark set dry grass on a vacant lot beside Dillon Steam Laundry alight. The blaze threatened a gasoline tank and rubbish piles before the Dillon fire department quelled the fire. Fire Marshal Ecklund urged owners to clean unused property.

W. H. Lee Wounded in Leg in Armstead Shootout
W. H. Lee a rancher and sheep man from Armstead was brought to Curtis hospital with a gunshot wound in the leg after an incident at Will Stinson’s saloon. Eyewitnesses say Lee was the aggressor and Stinson fired in self defense. no arrest followed the investigation.

New Coal Chutes Planned for Dillon Site
The Oregon Short Line recently began building cement and steel coal chutes at Dillon to replace fall fire damaged units. Electric powered, the $55,000 installation will be automatic and located south of the Reeder street crossing on the east side of Blacktail.

Sheriff Wyman traveled to Jackson last Sunday evening and routed a gang of I W W members who had lingered in the area for weeks. The group had set up a camp near Jackson before haying season. Officials believed they planned to join hayfields work but refused offers of employment. Leaders were taken to Wisdom for trial while others were released.

Man Charged With Grand Larceny In Wool Theft
Sheriff Wyman returned from Roberts Idaho with Barney Mullins charged with grand larceny. Mullins allegedly conspired in stealing wool from Parley Dansie from a car at Daly Spur. Fred Miller and C H Muller were arrested earlier. Mullins and Muller appeared in district court. one pleaded not guilty while the other delayed his plea.

New Hotel Andrus Nears Completion in City

C B Jones of Fort Worth Texas shipped 217 head of cavalry type horses from Dillon to Chicago last week. He paid 37000 dollars for the lot and most were purchased in Beaverhead County except 12 head bought at Sheridan Montana. The horses were formerly used in Yellowstone Park transport.

Dillon Defeats Blackfoot 6 to 4 in Interesting Shutout
Over four hundred visitors from Idaho spent Sunday in Dillon as the local team beat Blackfoot, Idaho 6 to 4. It was the third Dillon game this season, with two wins for the home squad. A special train carried 400 visitors, with residents from Blackfoot and Idaho Falls among the crowd.
