The funeral of Mrs. R. A. Reynolds drew one of Beaverhead’s largest crowds at the Methodist church. Her will, opened Monday and filed with Clerk F. A. Judge George W. Stapleton known as Wash among older residents died in Butte at 2 00 this morning from angina pectoris. A pioneer lawyer and former four term territorial legislator he built wealth in law and mining and spent his last years in real estate. Survived by his wife and son Guy W. Stapleton with funeral plans pending.

Murder Ends in Death After Jackson Practical Joke
A Jackson barber Frederick Heagy, about fifty, was killed last Thursday evening by James Thompson known as Denny. Heagy and others planned to steal Thompson’s horse as a joke. Thompson struck him with a club and Heagy died Friday morning. Thompson faces $10,000 bond after inquest verdict common among locals.

Annual Declamatory Contest at Heaverhead High
Heaverhead county high school holds its annual declamatory contest Friday at 8 15 in the assembly room. Five students compete for the state interscholastic title to be decided in Missoula next month. Admission is 25 cents to cover travel for representatives and rail fare for the runner up. Contest program includes vocal solo by Jean Biglop and readings by Ruth Kootta Walter Conway Will Rose Ruth Weenick and Eather Thoman with piano by Joseph Adam and a judge’s decision pending.
