Argenta Road fund raised by Dillon merchants dominates local drive

A two day canvass among Dillon business men raised 1700 for the Argenta road project. The county commissioners agreed to build the bridges while citizens provide rent and the bulk of funding. a surveyor will prepare estimates and bids will be invited to speed construction if costs stay within the raised amount.

County Commissioners Pass Bridges and Road Projects

The county board met in special session with all members present. Bids for two steel cells ranged from 190 to 615, awarded to E T Barnum Jail Works of Detroit as the lowest bidder. Bridges over Beaver Head River, Beaverhead Canal and Rattlesnake estimated at 1200 will be built with road costs covered by the citizens' committee. A view of Canyon road near Moran's place favored opening on the opposite section line. Three Big Mole basin bridges bid awarded to Armitage, Dillon Implement Co adds bicycle shop and repairs to local business with Makinson from San Francisco to run the department.

Board of mineral land examiners to inspect lands near Big Hole river

Frack Leonard of Libby and Butte, Col Wr. Tarrison of Georgetown, Tempking of Prescott, and E Woodworth of the Northern Pacific travel to Hea verheed county to examine mineral lands on the Big Hole river about 12 miles from Wisder within a 60 mile grant. They expect to stay about a week.

W Tate Taylor, a noted Hhapnack wining man, posts bond of 90000 on the Mideight mine near Argesta owned by A V Clark and others. The bond runs for forty days, and the mine has long supplied ore for Benge, with Taylor’s management expected to boost output.
