Montana Calendar of Vacation Events Highlights 1956 List
The Montana Chamber of Commerce and the Montana Highway Advertising department release the Montana Calendar of Vacation Events for 1956. It lists over 150 major events and 32 places to see along with fishing and hunting regulations. Notable items include the Northern Plains Spring Exhibition in Glendive March 28–31 and the opening of Belmont and Big Mountain ski courses in November. The guide omits Bannack Monument, drawing criticism for its absence from “Ghost Towns” queries. The Beaverhead Museum opens June 1, Junior Fish Derby June 16, and the County Fair and Rodeo over Labor Day weekend. Ten thousand copies were printed for distribution.
