Montana Agricultural College Band Delights Dillon Audience
The Montana Agricultural College regimental band from Bozeman drew the largest crowd ever in Dillon at the new Normal assembly hall last Thursday. Enthusiastic encores followed each number, the audience praising leader Louis J. Howard a Dillon boy returning after twenty one years, and Professor Carriera’s singing with a double encore. The concert was one of Dillon’s most delightful attended events and a return engagement is hoped soon.

Shakespeare Club Seeks Debt-Free First Class Club House
In Dillon the Shakespeare club plans a grand club house but will not incur debt. With about 500 dollars in treasury raised by member and ex-member share sales, funds grow slowly through events and investments. Members aim for a prestigious, ornamental building reflecting the club’s character and value. Public support is welcomed.

Democratic State Central Committee backs Bryan in Montana
The Montana Democratic State Central Committee adopted a unanimous resolution endorsing William J. Bryan. It set the timing and places for two state conventions and apportionment of 619 delegates across 27 counties, with Beaverhead allotted 19 delegates. The meeting in Helena also expressed sympathy for Mrs. Joseph K. Toole and honored John B. Wellcome, a Jefferson county member who died. The first convention location narrowed to Anaconda by one vote over Helena Bozeman. the second went to Anaconda after ballots.

The Argenta Dillon Mining Company plans to commence work at their Argenta mine this Saturday with boilers fired and many workers. Water will be pumped out by then, and a program with luncheon will honor the event. Stockholders and friends are invited to attend next Sunday as the firm showcases progress and aims to make Argenta a major Southern Montana mining center. Beaverhead Club members were invited to the Silver Bow Club’s new rooms in Butte Friday evening.
