Dillon Gun Club Holds Registered Shoot in Montana
Dillon's hard shooting gun club opened defense of a state title with a 73 in the annual Montana Standard telegraphic shoot last Sunday. Helena led by Everett Peterson with 50 straight and a 25 from Dillon’s lineup, aided by 24s from Hap Apgar Dan Peterson Leslie Smith Garry Wiant and Ted Ren, as the Dillon team scored 73 to Helena's 74.

Funeral of W Retallack Held in Butte
William H Retallack 48 died at his home in Butte last Wednesday evening. Born in Utah he lived in Beaverhead county most of his life and moved to Butte four years ago. Survived by mother three sisters wife a son and two daughters. Funeral held in Butte Saturday with relatives from Dillon Bannack attending. Pallbearers were six nephews George Ashworth Joseph Collins Richard Ernest and Donald Nelson and Harold Contway.

Don Smith of Dillon won the regional flag contest sponsored by the American Legion auxiliary. Final rounds took place at the YMCA in Butte. He and Mildred Johnson of Helena advance to the state finals in Helena. June Johnson of Dillon placed second in the girls division.

Normal Glee Club and Orchestra in Concert
The Normal College presents a joint concert by the Little Symphony Orchestra led by Ralph McFadden and the Women's Glee Club directed by Arnold Clair on Friday April 16 at 8 15 pm in the college auditorium. Admission is free. The closing number features a sixty voice mixed chorus with the orchestra and a varied program includes selections by Luigini Bach Gounod Moszkowski Flotow Chaminade Dett and other composers as well as violin solos by Herman Schwab and pieces by Mozart Bridge Speaks and others.

High Court Rules Juror Competent In Assault Case
The Montana Supreme Court upheld a Gallatin County eight year sentence for Louie Bucy of West Yellowstone for assault with intent to kill after juror Herbert Lawrence, once committed as insane, was alleged to render the trial invalid. The court found no error and allowed the conviction to stand.

College 10 students form union plan after meeting
Delegates from seventeen organizations met on a Wednesday April 7 to discuss plans for a student organization association. Leland Schoonover chaired with Edward Chouinard as secretary. Hazelbaker Named State Republican Committeeman
Frank A. Hazelbaker was elected state committeeman from Beaverhead County at a county Republican meeting in the courthouse. He succeeds the late Pearl I. Four year old injured in Dillon collision near Spencer
The four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs L H Wilson of Dillon suffered a scalp wound and her father and another relative received minor injuries when the Wilson car met one from California just north of the Hardy service station at Spencer. The group was taken to Dubois for treatment after the crash. The Wilson car was left in Spencer for repairs.

City Adopts Liquor Sale Regulations
City council approves new state retail liquor law rules at a special meeting. The ordinances impose strict controls on minor presence in liquor establishments and set a city license fee of 150 dollars for each licensed place.
