Selective service board announced yesterday reclassifications including 2-A 2-B and 4-F designations for numerous men. Sergeant Henry F Hignight of Dillon Montana earned the Purple Heart for January 26 wounds on Luzon while serving with the 43rd Infantry Winged Victory Division.

Rube Tritt Dies in Nampa Idaho at 74
Reuben Tritt 74 died after a brief illness at his Nampa Idaho home early last Thursday. He came to Dillon with his parents in 1882 and operated a transfer business for years. He also worked for Gracier Grocery and later was a Beaverhead county resident.

Lima Woman Injured in Auto Crash Near Dillon Bridge
Mrs. Fred Smith of Lima was injured when her pickup plunged from the highway near Van Camp's bridge south of Dillon and overturned. Driver Charles Mosmie escaped injury after swerving to avoid a car driven by Mrs. Joe Mautz at a roadside mailbox. Mrs. Smith was taken to Dillon by Mrs. Findlay Watson.

A C Bayers, noted Twin Bridges Hereford breeder, told the Dillon Rotary Club about purebred cattle breeding at the weekly dinner. He said only two kinds of cattle exist, profitable and unprofitable, and urged cooperation between purebred and commercial breeders to remove the unprofitable. He compared purebred breeders to laboratories and scientists guiding industry toward specialized goals, aiming to raise cattle that fatten easily.

Veteran Section Foreman Dan Little Retires After 40 Years
