Three Year Campaign For Swimming Pool
A DeWitt community after three years completed a public swimming pool project. Starting with Lions club efforts in 1953, funds grew from a $75,000 goal to eventual bond approval in 1957. The drive faced hog price setbacks and school bond conflicts before securing a $55,000 bond, site selection near Springbrook road, and bids for construction led by Pressure Concrete Co with electrical work awarded to Jerry's Electric.
