Poems by students of the High School will be published in this department. Readings include WINTER verses and other selections by the English teacher. The pieces evoke winter scenes, prairies, moonlight, and playful student verses describing skating, frosty air, and collegelike mischief, reflecting youth and instruction.

A visitor from Iowa spent weeks in Devils Lake purchasing gloves clothes underwear overcoats and shoes. He said he could buy here and ship home while saving enough to cover the trouble, noting prices were similar but Devils Lake merchants offered 40 to 50 percent more utility.
