Memorial Day Exercises at Devils Lake
Special Order No 1 sets May 30 1903 as a day to honor the dead with a parade and cemetery decor. A Sunday service preceded by a march from the courthouse, with the W R C and Co D band. graves and monuments remembered by Comrades Grant Sherman and other patriots. The program includes marching routes, band and civic participants, ritual, address by Rev Z James, firing, taps, and an afternoon armory service.
