North Dakota Chautauqua opens with varied entertainments
The 11th assembly of the Chautauqua association opens June 27 and runs 24 days offering 20 varied entertainments. Baseball, bathing facilities, a large swimming tank, and special teacher admission rates mark the program. Full club activities include a Boys Club led by Fuller Swift and a Girls Club under Ora Swift with uniforms for attendees and new grounds amenities.

On May 24 the post and auxiliary will attend services at Church of the Advent, gathering at 10 a.m. to march to the church. Resolutions praise Grant Sherman Thomas Logan and other patriots, with graves in the south and elsewhere. Comrades remain as depositories of their record.

U S Commissioner Pinney Recalled Over Embezzlement Allegations
The Minot Optic reports United States Commissioner E B Pinney has been revoked amid a state federal probe into removal of North Dakota officers. Pinney allegedly misused funds from settlers under the fourteen months clause, accepting about 201.50 plus 14.00 and publication fees, failing to remit to the land office, with losses approaching 5000 dollars and affecting settlers facing loss of homes. Pinney left town more than two months ago. the paper had withheld disclosure pending further findings.
