Insanity Board Sends Barrett to State Asylum
The Insanity Board met in Judge Duell's office to rule on W. W. Barrett's mental state. After examining Dr. Ruger and witnesses Erik Mellem and Oscar Soberg, the panel ordered confinement at the state asylum. Barrett, about 68, long served as State Superintendent of Area and Forestry and was lauded for irrigation and forestry work. He left by the afternoon train with his son George.
