Bond defeat delays city hall project and firehouse plans
The city rejected an 8000 bond for a new city hall with fire apparatus quarters and an armory. Voters argued the proposal would raise revenue through an opera house and surplus bonds, while opponents urged reconsideration and a public meeting to explain the issue.
