Commercial clubs plan labor canvass before harvest in North Dakota
Commercial clubs of North Dakota will canvass the labor situation next week to estimate how many men are needed to harvest the crop. Early reports from LaMoure and Foster counties show demands of 3,000 and 1,500 to 2,000 workers respectively, with total state needs expected to rise into the thousands. Farmers fear prior years of light labor will reduce worker availability, prompting business leaders to act to prevent a shortage.
