Indian band concert opens event with varied acts
The master of ceremonies introduced Col. Creel and Senator Hansbrough who gave welcoming remarks amid applause. An Indian band opened the auditorium program with the Philhi Concert Co led by the Fauson and Thompson sisters performing Annie Laurie and a lively encore followed by Prof. McAllister’s solo Kisses the Road. Rev. Cooper handed the MC role to Col. Creel who quipped about needing an up to date advance agent and joked about paying Rev. Cooper ten thousand dollars a year. Ringling Bros. joked about Witch on. The program closed with Prof Crackenbush of Dundee as the next speaker.
