Seed Wheat Bonds Bill Goes to Governor In North Dakota
The long text of house bill No 2 proposed by Mr Adams of Griggwe county sets seed wheat relief for drought victims. It authorizes county boards to issue bonds up to twenty thousand dollars per county, to be repaid over 5 to 15 years with interest up to 7 percent. Proceeds fund seed wheat for residents harmed by drought in 1883, with limits on per-person aid and bonds subject to stringent safeguards. The bill has passed the house and goes to the governor for signature amid council consideration of amendments and related legislative activity.
