J A Jacobson an old Minot resident died at his Wittenburg Wisconsin home two weeks ago at age 80. He came to Minot in 1886 and lived there with his son before moving to Wisconsin. A member of Dakota territory’s first assembly he played a notable role in early politics and Indian conflicts. He fought in Kandiyohi Minnesota and South Dakota battles and owned a revolver linked to those encounters. He was Kandiy county’s first auditor and helped organize several South Dakota counties including Jackson. Old friends express sorrow at his passing.
