City Council Sells Outdated Fire Apparatus
At a Monday night meeting the city council agreed to sell the old fire apparatus including a hand pumper hook and ladder rig with five ladders hose cart and 500 feet of hose all in good condition. The pump can handle ordinary fires in a small town and the city water works made the gear redundant. The council sets the sale price at 850 noting it would cost nearly three times as much new and inviting a village to acquire fire protection at minimal cost.
