Horrible Death of a Railroader in Great Northern Yards
A. C. Rupert, yard fireman, was instantly killed in a Great Northern yard accident Tuesday morning. While checking a box car, his head was crushed between the car and the engine cab as the engine passed, leaving a one inch gap. Rupert, about 26, from Indiana, had moved to the city six months ago, was unmarried and well regarded by coworkers. A brother in Bisbee notified and claimed the remains.

Hartzell Guilty of Manslaughter in Langdon Case
Hartzell found guilty of manslaughter in the Langdon homicide of Byron Stoddard after a 24 hour trial. The jury pinned a five year penitentiary term as verdict reached follows a court instruction on whether Hartzell could pursue Stoddard after the attack, with the court ruling he could not.
