Winter Mid-Winter Fair Dates Set in Ramsey County

The Mid-Winter Fair will run January 26 to 28 in Ramsey County with a packed program. Chas Pillsbury and Mrs. Clark W. Kelley organize a three day event featuring a large grain exhibit, corn focus, and a strong speaking lineup including a U. S. dairy commissioner and other distinguished speakers.

Meeting of Medics Is Called for Health Officers

Secretary McGurren of the State Board of Health calls a meeting of county and city health officers in the courthouse next Wednesday December 16 at 10 am. Prof Ladd Pure Food commissioner Dr Crew of the live stock sanitary board Dr Bristol of the public health laboratory will speak. The aim is to form a permanent state health organization with about 100 outsiders expected.

W B Case Goes Into U S Court

Fargo officials report a bill in equity filed in federal court by W B Case tobacco manufacturers seeking an injunction to block Dr Ladd from prosecuting dealers handling the product under state snuff laws. The action follows a Ladd bulletin branding W B as snuff and claiming its sale illegal. Attorneys Engerul Holt Jane represent the plaintiffs. Mr and Mrs Leslie Dean of Crary were visitors in town.

Funeral Rites Held for Mrs P G Timie

Large gathering pays tribute at the Masonic hall as Mrs P G Timie, long a member of the Eastern Star, is laid to rest in G A R cemetery after services led by Rev C B Stinson. Pallbearers included Auis Mundt H L Schutte Fred Hall M Kirst and Dean Jacobson. The obituary notes her husband and children as surviving mourners.

Miss McDonald Wins Corn Contest Prize

Ramsey county corn contest judged yesterday with Miss Stella McDonnell of Poplar Grove winning first place. Eight prize winners earn a trip to the boys and girls institute. seven of eight are girls showing women’s interest in agriculture. Other winners include Louise Brending and Lulu Merrick of Bay school, Clara Bryn and Hilda Bryn of Grand Harbor, Agnes Bryn, Grand Harbor, and John Amundson Starkweather.

Fargo Institute Creates Much Interest Here

Joseph Shelver of Devils Lake serves as president as the Fargo Institute draws Ramsey County students to a Boys and Girls Institute program. Eight Ramsey County children will attend with sessions led by Benson, Hollis, Bell, Randlett, Amidon, Stoner, and Keithly. Amusements and tours fill each day alongside receptions and events at the Orpheum. Officers include President Joseph Shelver, Vice President Clifford Hint, Secretary Mary Cunningham, and Treasurer Walter Mulholland.

North Dakota Improvement stockholders meet in Fargo to probe Baldwin removal

At Fargo a meeting of North Dakota Improvement Company stockholders formed an investigating committee to examine the removal of M A Baldwin as receiver and to appoint a new officer. The committee includes J M Kelly Devils Lake Dr Hegge Mayville D O Malley Valley City and Rev Rundsvold. District Judge C A Pollock called the meeting to seek possible next steps. The company owned a Devils Lake hotel and other property. Friends of Mr and Mrs Reuben Marshall report a satisfied move to Missoula Montana where Mr Marshall works in a garage.
