Nearly all efforts to locate Kalispell division superintendent R F Egan have ended. A E Long is named acting superintendent with Kalispell headquarters, replacing the deceased Egan. Friends of Egan, once in Grand Forks and connected to the Northern division, held to hope but now fear he perished.

Northern Pacific Plans Cutoff Through the Bad Lands
The Northern Pacific will build a cutoff from near Belfield northwest to Green river then west across a plateau north of Medora. A mammoth bridge over the Little Missouri will carry the line while the old line is touched west of Sentinel Butte. The Fryburg hill will be bypassed and a smoother Bad Lands route created. Beaver hill grade solutions are not announced.
