Senator Slotten Dies After Illness in Minneapolis
Senator Andrew Slotten prominent Richland county Republican died at St Barna bas hospital Minneapolis after a brief illness. He served in the 1887 Bismarck constitutional session and 1894 state senate later elected again from Richland county. He was 62, survived by his widow a son and a daughter Mrs Anton Bjornson Dwight N D.

Fire destroys Doyon barn in electrical storm
During a Sunday night storm a lightning strike set the large Chas. H. Doyon barn afire and burned it to the ground. About 80 tons of hay and several minor items were consumed, with heroic efforts saving horses harnesses a threshing outfit and engine nearby. Loss expected to reach 2000 to 2500 dollars with no insurance.

The fifth wedding anniversary of Rev Owen F Jones and his wife was celebrated by a surprise reception at the rectory hosted by the ladies guild. Bishop Cameron Mann attended as speaker and presented a silver cabinet plus a purse, with remarks and thanks from the couple. Music by Miss Kerlin and recitations by Miss Middaugh followed, and refreshments were served as guests wished them many happy returns.
