Funding Gap Clouds Choctawhatchee Bay Study Progress
Destin Harbor Choctawhatchee Bay Subcommittee chair Francis Spence says an extra 25 000 to 30 000 is needed to finish the 18 month ecological study directed by Dr. Robert Livingston of Florida State University. With a 150 000 funding level instead of 250 000, scientists will seek six potential sources including state legislature and Sea Grant while continuing field sampling and analysis of samples though plankton work may be left unfunded.
