Beach access at Seagrove washed out by heavy rains
Residents of Seagrove Beach press Walton County for a permanent fix after a public beach access road and boat launch were largely washed away by heavy rains last weekend. The packed shell road from County Road 30-A eroded three weeks earlier, and Friday’s downpour widened a crevice up to 10 feet wide and four feet deep, leaving debris and mud along the sandy shoreline near One Seagrove Beach. Local homeowner Don Adair and neighbors, who operate a seafood store nearby, rely on the access point, one of four in the area, amid years of complaints about its condition and response from officials.
