DNR flags concerns on Destin Pointe Resort plan
A preliminary review by the Florida DNR finds "some problems" with the Destin Pointe Resort project. The multi story condominium is proposed near Holiday Island and could rise near 200 feet if federal height limits are lifted. DNR notes concerns about building seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line and has not yet received an official permit application from Wen Group. Local residents oppose lifting the 75 foot height cap and have sent letters to county commissioners and members of Congress.
