Destin Roads Lead County Priority List in 1984 Plan

Destin routes figure prominently in Okaloosa County’s 1983 84 road priorities as Mountain Drive needs widening for truck safety and a right turn lane from Benning Drive to Highway 98 is planned. Destin Seeks State Funds for Industrial Park Roads

Okaloosa County engineer Dave Heinrich pleaded before the Economic Development Transportation Committee in Tallahassee for 150000 dollars to improve Roads in Destin Industrial Park. Destin’s plan includes a 6000 square foot medical facility and a 10000 square foot post office with 30 acre office retail complex fronting Main Street and Highway 98 potentially creating 200 to 400 new jobs.
