Stamps Honor Streetcars Preserve Transit Heritage
The Postal Service will issue a block of four 20 cent stamps in October to honor streetcars as America’s early mass transit. The stamps depict the John Mason horse streetcar, Montgomery’s first electric lines, the Bobtail horsecars, and New Orleans oldest operating line since 1835, with the issue tied to National Stamp Collecting Month.
